Cymia Launches her Social Responsibility Campaign, Cymia’s Pledge!
Hard work lands Cymia Major Record Deal and Platform to Launch National Youth Social Responsibility Campaign – Cymia’s Pledge!
February 23, 2011 – Atlanta, GA — Pay it forward. That’s what Child Singer/Actres/Author and Entrepreneur Cymia is determined to do with her life and her voice. At just 12 years old Cymia’s focus and strong work ethic rival that of leaders three times her age. Cymia balances a hectic daily schedule that begins at 6AM each day. Her daily regimen includes physical training, home school lessons, vocal and dance training, studio sessions, and of course, chatting online with her girl friends. Cymia is working hard to prepare for her debut LP on Cash Money/Universal Republic Records this summer and, she is also set to release her first book later this summer, “You Can’t Bully Me” on CMC-Atria books – A division of Simon and Shuster. With all that she has on her plate Cymia is still determined to launch a cause close to her heart – Cymia’s Pledge.
Cymia’s Pledge is a national youth driven pledge campaign that encourages kids and teens to agree to being socially responsible on the internet and while texting. The pledge also encourages youth to find ways to do good in their community. CYMIA’S PLEDGE simply states…
“I pledge that I will not text or share any inappropriate photos while on the internet or on my cell phone. I also pledge that I will not bully anyone in person or cyber bully and, I will encourage adults not to look at or send a text while driving a car. Lastly, I pledge that I will respect all people by promoting kindness and finding ways to spread goodwill to others.”
To encourage kids to spread goodwill, Cymia will launch a national contest where kids and schools can submit videos to Cymia’s facebook fanpage showing how they found positive ways to help in their community. Winners will receive cool prizes and a chance for Cymia to visit their school in person.
Cymia hopes that the pledge will not only encourage kids to be socially responsible but also inspire both kids and adults to focus more on helping others. “Responsibility comes first in real life.” states Cymia. “We all need to act responsibly on the internet and on our cell phones. Instead of bullying other kids we should look for more ways to help one another. I hope before they act, kids will stop and ‘remember the pledge’.
